Our method of improving each voice is through a combination of individual one-to-one singing lessons and creating opportunities for our students to immerse themselves into the world of singing and songwriting through our music mentoring, songwriting courses, open mic nights and showcases. This combination allows our students to progress quickly and more confidently.

Founder
City Vocal Coach came into being through the impassioned journey of Sam Marlow, a singing teacher and Brit School faculty member.
During his early twenties, Sam was in a band playing stages across the UK and Europe. A hectic touring schedule took its toll on the lead singer’s voice, and Sam began to consider his vocal health and how to protect it. Realising that he needed more than just “warm-up” exercises before performing a show, Sam’s perspective on vocal training transformed. He realised that in order to preserve his vocal health, and be able to perform to the best of his ability, show after show, he needed tools for recovery, tricks to utilise whilst performing, and techniques and exercises to train his vocal strength.
Long before City Vocal Coach had its own place in London, Sam used to cycle around the city, guitar on his back, to reach his students. From these humble beginnings, and determined to create a nurturing space, City Vocal Coach was born.
