Most people who walk through our door have never had a lesson, or haven’t sung since school. They’re nervous. They think they might not be “good enough” to start. They’re wrong, and that’s the whole point of starting.
Our Foundation lessons are relaxed, encouraging, and completely pressure-free. You’ll work one-to-one with a teacher whose job is to make singing feel possible, build your confidence, and give you the foundations everything else is built on.

Why start with a Foundation teacher?
Built for absolute beginners. No experience assumed, nothing to prove. Just a warm, patient place to start.
Same studio, same community. You’re a full City Vocal Coach student from day one, with the Hoxton studio, our monthly open mic nights, live showcases, and a whole community of singers to grow with.
A clear path forward. Many students start at Foundation and move up to one of our advanced coaches as they grow in confidence and ability. You’ll never outgrow us, you’ll just level up when you’re ready.
What happens on your free call.
- Book directly with your teacher. The call is with the person you’ll actually be learning with.
- You tell them your story. Where you are with singing, what’s held you back, what you’d love to be able to do. No judgement. They’ve heard it all, and they love a beginner.
- They give you something useful. A real tip about your voice you can take away and try straight away, not a sales pitch.
- They tell you about life at CVC. What to expect from your lessons, our open mic nights, our showcases, and the community you’ll be joining. It’s a lot more than lessons.
- You book your first lesson, if it feels right. No pressure. Completely fine to go away and think about it.
